Not all phytoplankton are created equal. Low quality Nannochloropsis algae have cell walls composed primarily of cellulose, leaving many filter feeders with full stomachs that their gut cannot digest. That is not to mention the infestations of Vibrio and unwanted rotifers that are hidden in your phytoplankton mixes, ready to invade your vulnerable tank.
