Orr Biologicals is a non-commercial, open-source, educational project, and our approach to your privacy is just as simple as the site itself. We collect as little as we possibly can, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, and what happens to it.

About this site and this policy

Orr Biologicals is an independent, non-commercial, open-source educational initiative about Spirulina (Arthrospira) cultivation and the experimental MAIN reactor-control system. It is run by a private individual, not a company.

This is a static website. It exists to share articles, guides, and project updates. There are no user accounts, no logins, no shopping cart, and no advertising network.

This policy covers the one place we collect personal information — an optional email waitlist / preorder-interest form — and the limited technical information your browser sends simply by loading a page.

What we collect

Waitlist and preorder interest: if you choose to join our waitlist or tell us you are interested in a preorder, you send us your email address and, optionally, a short message. That is all. We do not ask for your name, mailing address, phone number, or any payment details.

This form works by emailing service@orrbiologicals.com. Submitting it simply sends us a message, and you are always free not to.

Basic hosting logs: like almost every website, our host automatically records standard technical details when a page loads, such as IP address, browser type, and the time of the request. This is ordinary server operation. We do not use it to identify you and we do not combine it with the waitlist.

We do not run analytics platforms, advertising trackers, fingerprinting, or third-party marketing pixels.

Why we collect it and how we use it

We use your email address for a single purpose: to contact you about the specific thing you asked about, whether that is a waitlist update, preorder availability, or a reply to your message.

If you include a message, we read it so we can answer your question or note your feedback.

We will not add you to unrelated mailing lists, and we will not message you about things you did not ask about.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your email address or message with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for their own use.

Because this is a non-commercial project, there is no business reason to monetize your information, and we don't.

Third parties and cookies

Email provider: messages to and from service@orrbiologicals.com pass through a standard email service, which handles them the way any email provider handles mail. Your address and message stay in that mailbox until we delete them.

Embedded YouTube videos: some pages embed videos from our channel (@OrrBiologicals). If you press play on an embedded video, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies and collect viewing data under Google's own privacy policy. That happens on YouTube's side, not ours, and only when you choose to play a video. You can manage or block cookies in your browser settings.

This site itself does not set advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep your information

We keep waitlist and preorder emails only as long as we need them for the purpose you contacted us about, for example until the waitlist is fulfilled or a project phase ends, and we clear them out periodically after that.

Hosting logs are kept for a short time by the host as part of normal server operation and are then rotated out.

Seeing, correcting, or deleting your information

You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold, to correct it, or to delete it. Email service@orrbiologicals.com and we will remove your address and message from our list. Because we hold so little, this is quick.

If you joined the waitlist and change your mind, just say so and we will take you off it.

Children and young people

This is an educational project and we welcome curious learners of every age. We do not knowingly build profiles of anyone, and we collect nothing beyond the email address and optional message described above. If you are young, please ask a parent or guardian before sending us your email.

Changes and how to reach us

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Because the project is small and still growing, occasional updates are normal.
